I might be getting a Verizon iPhone 4 for my birthday next month, as i believe it would solve a problem i have with texting(I live in a dead zone) with a texting app. Plus i've been wanting a smartphone for a while now. But i have a few questions about it.
Is there a texting app that runs off of your Wifi connection? We have a highspeed internet connection at our house, and i would like to use that in place of the terrible signal we get at our house. This is what my decision largely hinges on, as the main reason for me getting a smart phone is because of the bad signal i get in our area with my LG Cosmos.
Also, my dad's line is the only one that is eligible for a smartphone upgrade(His line is the main line in the plan we have). So, would it be possible for me to switch my number with his? No one in the family plan we have has any sort of special plan, so the only obstacle would be the fact that our numbers would be switched.
