WiFi on Cell Phones

I am tired of waiting of a US HSDPA S60, so I am either going to get the N80 or the N73. I am sure a comparison between the two has been posted often and I am not looking for that. Can someone explain to me the benefit to Wifi on a cell phone? Are the speeds comparable to using a laptop or does the fact that it is a cell phone limit the speeds?

wifi can be handy on the phone, you can use it for voip calls, browsing the web, and streaming for a few examples. the wifi on the phones seems to be pretty quick, i have it on my e61 and it works well. when i am at home i browse using wifi if i don't want to pull out my laptop. it really depends on how much you plan to use it. if i remember correctly the n73 has some faster version of edge so that shouldn't be too bad for browsing, and the camera on the n73 is a lot better than the n80 just because of the auto focus.
