my wife is in her 9th month of pregnancy, only two weeks away from delivery. She has become very emotional and keeps doubting me. She is under tremendous stress probably also because she is in our home country for delivery at her mothers place and i am abroad. She keeps suspecting that I am not interested in the child despite me assuring her that I will be there for delivery and will take her back with me abroad. She doesnt sleep at night and raises a tantrum at the simplest of things at her mothers place. How do we deal with this and more importantly, is there a risk to the baby? Please advise, I am a first time father living alone abroad not knowing what is going on. She was perfectly normal throughout the pregnancy.

its probably just the stress of not having you around and being so close to the end of pregnancy. it is a very difficult time for a woman because not only is it emotional, its scary, hard to move (with pregnant belly). the best you can do is be as supportive as possible. if you are really worried maybe you can talk to her mom and see about mentionining talking to the DR about her emotional state, maybe they can help or give her some relaxation techniques. her emotional state will not harm the baby HOWEVER lots of stress is not good for the baby or your wife
