Wi-Fi Connect disconnects immediately

I'm new at this so bear with me. I have a TX and when I try to connect via Wi-Fi at my university, it looks like it's connecting, than it says it obtaining an IP address than it connects than it says it's canceling it and than I get disconnected. What am I doing wrong? I'm really getting frustrated.

I know how you feel.

At school there's a wifi connection but when i get it to connect to it all that happens is it says connecting.... connnecting.... but nothing happens because the connection is acctually encrypted but is not indicated so by my Palm. Interestingly enough the teachers may be kind enough to let out these codes :p

Now in your case i'm guessing.... possibly that your Uni only allows certain IP addresses and blocks the other as not to allow hackers etc. (not saying you're one, but that's they're safety measure). The other possibility could be similar to mind. A 'hidden' encryption shall we say (where it involves typing in something like 64-128 random characters - i think).

Can anyone else get a wifi connection at your uni? (laptop or PDA)
If the teachers can get a wifi connection for they're PDA or laptop (if they have one) then they probably have a hidden encryption
