Bruising for no apparent reason can be a sign of a serious blood disorder. Please see your physician as soon as possible.

Hopefully it's not serious; easy bruising can occur in people on blood thinners and the elderly.

It can also be caused by various deficiencies. Go to your doctor, get the needed blood tests out of the way and see if that provides an answer at all.

I had a large bruise on my back one day and couldn't figure out what it was for the life of me - my husband remembers that i had backed into a door jamb the night before.

BUT if you or anyone else doesn't remember you hurting yourself - like everyone has said, DEFFINATELY go see the doctor to rule out internal bleeding.

Bruising can be a side effect of some medications...medication for blood pressure comes to mind.

Yeah, it sounds like you are getting bruised by simply sitting down which isn't good. Def see a doctor.
