...teachings for Afghan school children? http://www.globalresearch.ca/index.php?context=viewArticle&code=CHO20100908&articleId=20958
Key points:
- the fundamentalist Afghans were weaponized by the US in 1979 and through the 80's.
- Ronald Reagan becomes best of friends with Afghan freedom fighters

- USAID pays millions for textbooks to indoctrinate Afghan children with militant Islamic teaching.
- the Taliban came to power and used the US islamic textbooks too.
- the Taliban were supported by the Saudis
- the Saudis were and are friends with the Americans
It seems to me that the Taliban were on mighty friendly terms with the US before 9-11, since the US was doing more than just funding their education program, they were responsible for indoctrinating their children with fundamentalist islamic teaching. If you look at the big picture, it seems like, on the surface, the US was planning all along to destroy Islamic nations by first indoctrinating them with corrupt militaristic ideals, selling it to Americans as a fight against the soviets, then falsely blaming 9-11 on them to use as an excuse to go to war.
Regardless, this question is about the textbooks, and this quote from USAID spokesman Kathryn Stratos:
"It's not AID's policy to support religious instruction," Stratos said. "But we went ahead with this project because the primary purpose . . . is to educate children, which is predominantly a secular activity."
Thus she is saying religious instruction is a secular activity which is not a policy, but we had to do it to "educate" the children. What a crock. Agree or disagree?
