Why would the front passengers side power window go down but not up on my

cheeks

2003 Ford Taurus? The front passengers side window will go down but it will not go up when pressing either the drivers side or passengers side buttons. There is no clicking sound or anything it just "does nothing". Any ideas on how I can fix this myself. Or how much it may cost to have fixed at a shop?
I tried the hitting the door thing... didn't work. now my hand just hurts :)

its not the motor! Well, it could be, but i have fixed not 1, not 2, but 3 Taurus with the same exact problem. Its the grease. Im not sure why they used such a problem grease, but it always happens when the temperature changes. The quick fix (which i found online) is to hit the door, hard, while pushing the button. To do a permanent fix i remove the grease and replaced it with a generic white lithium grease. good luck
