why would the doctors make you come in early pregnancy to discuss your lab work

if it was nothing bad.? they call and said she need to come in before her appointment so they could discuss her lab work but they said it is nothing bad im not sure if i belive them she has had major problems in the past and i worry something is wrong
she is only 12 weeks do u think they could have found twins or would they wait to make sure?
shes going in on friday so i hope all is well and nothing is wrong with the baby...
