Why would the blackbird in my garden suddenly desert her nest?

We have had blackbirds nesting before and even though we walk up and down the garden they seem fine. Would they move if someone had touched their nest? I think the eggs are still there from what we can see.

They do not abandon their young usually. Unless the parents have met with a tragedy.

Try to keep out of the way if you can of course.

Magpies and other predators will eat the young so help the blackbirds by keeping the nest hidden.

You could also help the birds feed their young by leaving out some worms or the maggots.

I have to tell you that our blackbirds babies have already fledged some weeks ago, as have the robins so if those eggs are in the nest with no parent sitting on them it rather looks like the parents have gone.and the eggs are cold.
