Why would the 4wd indicator light stay on in a 1994 jeep wrangler?

i just bought this wrangler, the 4wd light came on but the jeep wasn't in 4wd, the dealer said the transfer case was seized up, they supposedly "replaced" it with a brand new one, but when i got it back the light was still on, does anyone know why it would be on still?
 
The linkage is binding and triggering the switch or the switch is stuck on. The vacuum line may be broken and not allowing the actuator to disengage.
If it is not in 4 wheel drive, just pull the bulb out and the light will no longer be on
