My ex-husband's 2nd wife just called me and asked me to find out about a copy of our divorce for her citizenship paperwork. She is not an American citizen as yet and says that she needs the divorce decree for her paperwork. My ex-husband has been a citizen for about 5 years, so I'm not really sure why she would need this information. She also says that my ex doesn't know that she's asking for this. I'm tempted to call him, but I don't want to start a major incident over what could be a small thing. Anyone have any advice?
Actually, I was his 1st wife. Our divorce had become final about a month before he married his 2nd wife, who he is married to now and apparently he has sponsored her for citizenship. I was the one who sponsored my ex-husband when I was married to him.
Actually, they had filed for divorce a couple of months ago, but they have 2 small children together and I hear they're going to marriage counseling...maybe the counseling's not going so well!
