I think the Japanese Internment camps symbolise an important turning point in U.S democracy / law / legal rights and even human rights. For the First time, to protect the national security in time of crisis, the U.S government decided to intern japanese nationals in camps.
I dont disagree with what the U.S govt did - i mean it was a time of war. But you have to wonder if it wasnt the start of much darker things to come - the start of a dark path of a government moving towards clamping down on human and legal rights during times of national crisis.
You cant help but wonder if it was a kind of green light for abuses of government to come - if it set the legal precedent for the Guantanomo Bay and U.S secret jails right across the world.
No the internment camps had nothing to do with nagasaki or Hiroshima.
