Why would GM produce a car for over 22 years that doesn't turn a profit?

I'm talking specifically about the Saturn car and SUV line. None of those cars have ever turned a profit for general motors, yet for over 20 years they kept producing this vehicle.. .Uhhh Why?? This seem like bad business tactics that is beyond bad. It's dreadful
