Why would cumulonimbus storm clouds form at night?

in the absence of diurnal heating. So, the air masses become more stable and the cloud would collapse.

Yet, there are still instances in which a clear evening sky could be covered by cumulonimbus clouds causing thunderstorms in the middle of the night.


How is that possible?
