Why won't the battery on my 1989 Ford Mustang stay charged?

The other day, my husband drove the car to work like always and it wouldn't start when he tried to come home for lunch. He said the battery was dead and replaced it. He drove home that evening with no problems, but the car had to be jump started for him to drive to work. He said it was because he didn't tighten the battery terminals enough, causing it to lose its charge overnight. He replaced the battery terminals with new ones, but the battery still won't hold a charge. Finally, he took it to Autozone and Checkers to have the battery and alternator tested, but they tested okay. What else could the problem be?

sounds like a wire has shorted out and is draining your batt. or something is being left on like a sticky brake light switch.

if the alternator and battery are both okay, you probably have something wrong electronically. maybe a short somewhere that is draining power from the battery. take it to a mechanic.

NO some one goofed its one or the other the batt or alt not ever both

you have a short draining it.... if everything is new and test show its working... and it doing it over nite its a bad short.. best you take to a shop and let them work it out
