Why wont Sony handycam dcr-hc28 play back anything ive recorded..?

Sony handycam does everyhing else it is spose to, except when i try to play back what i have recorded, it just only shows the blue screen. The touch screen menu shows, along with the play/pause etc buttons. Even the date/time and counter show and work properly. I have tried new tapes, tape cleaner, dust cleaner. I dont have a warranty and I dont have any Sony repair shops in town. I have only used this for maybe 5 full tapes, bought it almost 3 years ago. Is this the end of my camcorder..?
 
I was wondering if you ever found the problem to your DCR-HC28 about it not playing back. I just started having the same issue
