Why won't Obama debate or discuss the issues with McCain?

Obama refuses to do any town hall events with McCain.

Obama refuses to do any more than the minimum 3 debates with McCain. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080802/ap_on_el_pr/presidential_debates

Obama runs from questions by the media when McCain sticks around until all questions are asked and asks if there are any more.
