Why won't my yahoo mail let me sign in to chat?

It keeps saying im offline and wont let me change my chat status. It also won't show if my contacts are on or offline. I can still recieve E-mails.

WHEN I HAVE THIS PROBLEM, I TOTALLY DELETE ALL TRACES OF YAHOO, THEN REINSTALL IT. YOU LOSE NOTHING, AND WHEN YOU SIGN BACK IN IT SHOULD BE WORKING FINE.
