I have a 2001 Honda Accord. When I start the car, the usual diagnostic lights come on, but NOT the SRS light - it does not even show on the dashboard. After I bought the car, I later found out that it had been in one or two accidents. I took it to the dealer to diagnose the SRS issue, and they confirmed that it had been in an accident, and pulled 5 SRS error codes:
1) Driver's side seat belt buckle
2) Passenger's side seat belt buckle
3) SRS module
4) Driver's side airbag
5) Passenger side airbag
They told me it would cost several thousand dollars to fix. Since then, I have replaced both seat belt buckles with new ones. I also examined the SRS module and inspected the surrounding wiring, which all looked normal. The driver and passenger airbags both seem to be in place and connected. I checked the fuse for the SRS system, it is fine.
I can't understand why they SRS light does not even come on. Do I just need a new module or a reprogrammed module? What should be my next step?
