why wont my ps3 scan my bluetooth headset?

i bought it from a friend today he said it was for the ps3 but dosnt say ps3 on the headset its had the motorola symbol on it like on boost mobile phones but anyway i charge it and then turn it on the light blinks blue but never is solid and when i chare it,it turns soldi then take it off and tun it on it blinks blue and the bluetooh head set has like a mini pic of a phone that turn on the bluetooh it wont scan it...buy the way after like 2min of chariging it while the lights on it just cuts off should i get my money back please help
