Why won't my ps2 slim play all my games?

I have had my ps2 slim for about 4 years now and when i go to play some games it always goes to the page View memory card/ play disk. And some band new games do not work and keep glitching up when its im my ps2, but works perfectly fine in others! And yet some of my other games work fine!
Please help!
