Why wont my PC open my holiday photos that i bought back on a cd rom?

i took some holiday photos on my friends digital camera & she kindly put them on to a CD rom for me to upload on my pc on my return.
Now the first 30 pics (that are all Jpeg images) open fine & open no problem with "Windows picture & fax viewer"..... But the the rest of the pics do not open???? it says "no preview avaliable" or sometimes "Incorrect diameter"????? What does this mean & how can i fix it as i would like all my holiday photos
 
Stuff your CD into your PC Now:-
Go Start; Computer: High- light the drive with your CD and right click, page down to Properties and click that. Now, you should find the pictures and it will tell you what format they’re in that’s import, make a note...You should now be given the option to “open with”, choose say, the top option if that don’t work try the next on the list till you get the result you’re after.
If you're unsuccessful lets have your OS ie is it XP or Vista
