Why wont my iPods Bluetooth connect to each other?

I have an iPod touch 3rd AND 4th generations, but when I try to connect them, they don't find each other. Any clues? I've tried putting about 2ft space between them, still nothing. Please help!! THANKS IN ADVANCE!!! =)
