Why won't my car turn on and what is wrong with my starter?

I tried to start the car but all i hear is a clicking noise for about a second, then it stops? I brought in the battery to have a check up and they said it was just fine. They said it may be a problem with an alternator or starter. How do I check my starter?
 
you gotta take it to the shop to check out your starter but before that you wanna make sure you have a good battery and a good alternator ive had this problem before and it was part of my starter called the ignition coils. it could also be this little module inside the starter. but truly the only way to find out is to take it to a shop so they can look at your starter or make sure you dont have a bad ground or somthing like that wich is also a possobility.
