I have a 1998 Holden Commodore VT That has been sitting around for a few months with a dead battery, I have now put a new battery in but it wont even turn over I just get a click sound. The reds come on and on the little digital display for the distance traveled and total kms etc. it beeps a couple of times and displays the message serv 300000 then shows up a warning that I am low on fuel and the distance till empty, then goes back to display the total kms traveled which is 300756kms or something close to that. I have searched around on the net abit and found that it could possibly be the immobilizer also I haven't checked if the battery in the key remote is working or not. Please help I would just like to have some idea of what is going on before I take it to a mechanic, as I know that in a situation like this it wouldn't be hard for a mechanic to take me for a ride for all I'm worth, as we all know it can be hard to find an honest mechanic.
Thanks

Also the motor has been replaced with a VX commodore motor. Im not sure when though as the previous owner had it done.
