I want to be able to take photos of myself off my canon camera. But it never actually takes a photo when i hold it facing me. The flash goes off, but no photo is taken, What happened? :O
What settings are you using? If you have the camera on manual and have the aperture and shutter speed set to impossible exposures you will just get a black frame. If the camera is on manual try switching to aperture or shutter priority and see if it works.
Have you had this problem since you first got the camera? Or did this problem develop later?
