why won't my asf files run

I have downloaded several episodes of the simpsons, family guy etc. Whenever i start to play the shows on windows media player it starts off fine, but then stops like 9 seconds in. I have gotten the files from different people so it can't be that. I do download the complete files too. Any ideas on how I can see the whole shows?

It does do that for all of them. I can't any to get past the theme songs.

Do you have the latest version of Windows Media Player?

Yep, I just got a brand new computer, it is the windows media player that came with it.

I can't think of any reason they wouldn't play offhand. You may want to try a different media player and see if that works.
