I just posted this question but I left out one very important detail. I tried jump it and it didn't work.

Here's the original question:

"I've noticed over the last week or so that when I started my Jeep it wasn't as smooth as normal. When I went to start it today, it just made a rapid clicking sound at first. After a few more tries it stopped clicking and I could hear something rotating and it sounded like it was going to start but couldn't quite start. I kept trying and never got past that point.

Other details that might help: it's been near freezing or below today and I also only have less than a 1/4 tank left."

The clicking sound is your starter so thats ok. I would say its the battery. When you live in a place that gets really cold in the winter your supposed to bring your battery inside at night. I would get a battery charger and let it charge in the garage overnight. If that doesnt work, check all the cables.

Battery, Alternator, Poor grounds, Poor connections, Bad cable ends, Corroded cables.

I would also check the battery, battery connections or alternator. Sounds more like the battery has died though. Cold temperatures can really kill a battery. Hope this helps
