i was driving through the mud and it shut off. it will turn over but wont start. i tried pull starting it but when i let off the clutch there was no resistance. what could be wrong?

something could've unpluged
or you messed up the engine because of the mud
it has water
it makes alot of damage to a car
wow what a good driver

Check the fuel pump interial switch. Not sure where yours is located but on my explorer it's right there on the floor board on the passenger side.If you hit a huge pot hole it might have tripped it.
It's basically a safety feature that automatically shuts off power to the fuel pump.

It could be a few things. One would be the fuel pump switch. Or, what my neighbor did was blow out his transmission, which could be the answer to your resistance problem.
