why won't my 1988 Mazda 323 start?

i left my lights on for 12 hours. tried to jump start it. nothing. not even a little crank... my head lights work... but i changed the battery and still nothing... checked the fuses... nothing...
 
Your ignition switch is completely shot. After 21 years it can happen. It also might be a dirty or corroded connection to the battery. Considering your headlamps work I doubt its your connection. Replacing an ignition switch will vary from car to car so, sorry, I cant tell how to fix it.
