Okay, I just bought this car yesterday. Both times when I went to test drive it it started up just fine as well as when I took it home last night. This morning I went to start it before leaving for work. I went to turn it over and it started to turn over but then died. I turned my key back. Went to try turning it over again. This time nothing happened. It just died. Both times my charge battery light came on. It started after I gave it gas for 5 minutes. The same thing happened when I went to leave work. Once it started it drove fine. I spent 30 min under the hood checking all the battery cables. Everything is attached where it is supposed to be as far as I can tell. My father thinks it is something wrong with the little black box that looks like it has fuses in it, connecting the positive cable to the battery terminal. What I am really looking for is a second opinion before I take my car to my mechanic. Maybe if someone has had this happen to them and has solved the problem. Or if anybody knows what I refered to as fuses do, or what they are actually called. I would appreciate any help I can get.
The people that I bought my car from replaced the fuel filter a couple of months ago. I will try and check the battery but I don't think it would start up again and again if the battery was dead. It starts after a few tries. I had a battery die in my old car and I couldn't even get it to start with the dead battery.
Are those fuses I described? Was I right?Thank you by the way.

The battery is the power source so i would check that first
fuses are what make everything have power source radio, wipers,a.c etc.....
or it could be something clogged in the fuel system (fuel Filter)
