I have tried everything. When I squeeze the handle it clicks off like it is full. Or, it will spit it back out all over me. Are the lines too small or something? Was there ever a recall? You can only pump about a quarter gallon at a time and it is extremely annoying. Please Help. I know it has nothing to do with how I insert the nozzle because I've tried everything. Thanks for your help.

I've never seen this problem on Toyota but have seen it on alot of other cars. Usually the vent valve which is part of the evap system sticks closed. It lets the air in the tank out when the gas starts to fill up the tank. If the air has no where to go it will build up pressure shutting off the pump. Some of them have a filter on the charcoal canister that will get plugged especially if you live in a cold area with ice.
