Why, Why is suboxone better...

I am undergoing surgery in 10 days for disc problems... If the surgery helps one of my doctors suggested I go on suboxone. Why is suboxone easier to get off of?, Is it? Does one get that slight euphoric feeling from it?(compared to Full opiates)?
Thanks in advance.

I have a dependancy problem, and am scared that the surgery won't help my pain, I am also scared the surgery will help my pain.

Your questions are so totally legitimate. I sure don't have the answers, but if there is ten days before surgery, I would absolutely see my surgeon and outright tell him the concerns. Be totally upfront and ask for the reasoning behind the suggested med for pain. Ask how much experience they have had with it and what results they have seen that brings them to their conclusion.

Because of my own past issues with opiates, I am real blunt about my concerns with any procedures that involve pain meRAB. It is more than legitimate to ask all the questions needed before a decision is made. Be brave and talk openly with the doctors involved.

I am sorry you must have surgery and am wishing all the best results in every area of it.

Be VERY VERY careful with suboxone!!! It is not for everyone!!!
The withdrawals from it are truly horrifying! Just look at all the threaRAB about suboxone here.

I am 6 days clean from Sub's after going cold turkey, and trust me, these six days have been the worst days in my life, and I've been through allot.

Do a full and complete research about suboxone before you decide.
It might be for you, or it might not, just do your own research first, read other peoples comments and experiences, read it all, and then compare them to what your doctor has to say, most likely, the doctor will be wrong.

That's my experience at least.
