Why when it comes to Bush U keep saying no one could have seen 911 coming?

Weren't there FBI agents who essentially figured out what the Hijackers were up to but they were silenced and although Clinton did not go after Bin Laden to the extent he should have didn't his office warn the Bush administration that Bin laden was planning a large scale attack on American soil?So how did he not not see it coming?racist republican, I guess your name says it all. If I had just a little knowledge of this, i would have had elements of the military and CIA and FBI on full alert at the least, at least that would show some effort was put into protecting the country but he did not even do this! At the least, why did he sit in that classroom and keep reading that stupid book even after he was told what was happening?So anti obama, is your defense of Bush's actions that since he could not directly do anything anyway since the attack had already started, that the approrpiate response was to continue reading a book to the kids instead of taking a leadership posture and engaging the current situation? Is that really, really your excuse for his actions?Ok, I understand what you're saying abou the thousands of zip codes etc. but I would think if you were told terrorist were going to attack America, you would atleast put some elemnets of your basic defense on alert wouldn't you? Even if you sent just a memo to the Coast guard or to NORAD, wouldn't the dissemination of information be more helpful than reading a bedtime story to a room of kids? Bush was warned 7 times a few weeks prior to the 9/11 attack while he was on his ranch vacationing. He ignored it. He didn't protect America.
 
Even if they had warned bush Bin Laden was planning a large scale attack on US soil do you think he has a crystal ball in the white house that tells him where and when and how bad? Do you think he should have automatically known it would be in NYC?

I can't answer that because I am not privy to the same information that was or was not given to Bush...and neither are you I assume.I can pretty well guarantee though that unless Bush is some kind of an alien monster, he would not have chosen to ignore something that he felt was credible.We shoud have known about the attack on Pearl Harbor back in 1941 also...but didn't pick up on the warning signs. So, nobody is perfect....and that will include Pres. Obama. He will make mistakes too...and we can all hope that they won't be as serious.
 
I am not sure that I believe your premise that the FBI new what was going to happen and didn't take actions to prevent it. I would be interested in any evidence that supports this accusation of severe dereliction of duty.I believe that without sufficient intelligence, due to the decimation of intelligence capability by the Clinton administration, the US had no actionable information with which to work.
 
The same reason that Clinton didnt see the 17 attacks coming that he let happen. ITs not like intel is always clear cut. You dont get a phone intercept saying we're going to hit the moon on august 15th at 10pm. You might get something like "torential rain in the northwest" while 5 suspected terrorists you're watching disappear. Also FBI might get a piece while the CIA gets another while someone else gets something else but noone works together & so no pieces are put together to make a bigger pictures. That's what Homeland security was suppose to do. Also people smuggle messages write sometimes instead of over phones & unless your on the paper trail again you wont get that piece of the message.
 
I highly doubt our intelligence community (which had it's funding DRASTICALLY cut under Clinton) knew exactly when and how the terrorist attack would occur.Furthermore, our intelligence community gets hundreds of reports a year about possible terrorist attacks - most of which, if not the vast majority of, are false. Our intelligence community had no way to know that 9/11 (if they even knew when/how it was going to happen) was legit.Seriously...put yourself in Bush's shoes. If you were warned about a possible large scale attack on American soil with no provided time frame...would YOU somehow have prepared for airliners failing out of the sky and hitting buildings?EDIT: There are 42,624 unique city-based zip codes in America, meaning there are roughly 43,000 cities (high estimate) in America. If you received a memo saying terrorists were going to attack America, how do you protect almost 43,000 cities for any period of time as President with a depleted military and intelligence community?And did you ever stop to think that Bush was reading the book to KIDS. Maybe he didn't want to alarm the KIDS? And what could he have done when the attack was already in progress? Honestly...there was nothing him or any President could have done at that point in time.
 
I also think Clinton was being criticized by Republicans for going after the terrorists as much as he was, especially when he was doing so during Sex-gate, and was even accused of doing so as a "Wag the Dag" scenario, and to some extent such actions, or similar ones, actually inspired the movie because people wanted soap operas not going after terrorists the news made out as not-all-that-important.Furthermore, if my memory serves when Bush took office to avoid this criticism, and continue criticizing Clinton, he publicly stated that he was not going to be going after Al Qaeda and other similar groups.
 
U did not read me writing that, but I remain confident that 911 would not have occurred if the votes were counted right and Al Gore became President. And remember, Bush and Cheney dropped the ball in the case of 911... How many more than 8 months did they need to get their acts together? And don't forget that it was Dick Cheney who was sent around the USA by Bush I to close all of the military bases not Bill Clinton.
