Why were the Bible lands such a hotbed of evil when many great civilizations were not?

Ancient Egypt, Ancient Greece and Rome had great civilizations that were not plagued with evildoers. Why? The actually had good laws that dealt with that behavior. Yet Judea didn't seem to have a clue.
ATHEIST TO THE DEATH!: Are you? I'm an atheist and I don't believe in the Bible. How does this question reflect racism? Because I used the term Judea instead of Jerusalem/Bethlehem/Nazareth/Sodom/Gommorah/Meggido? Grow up.

I don't know what you are talking about. Athens, Greece, for example made Pederasty (adult male sex with boys) into the highest form of "love." Today we call this child molestation -- a form of evil. I could go on and on.

actually they did... it's' just that they had armies to fight them off =P
Apparently the holy lands are full of conflict, and hence evil is born
or something
