I am studying Euclidean Geometry at my high school and what struck me today is that the Greeks were much more intelligent than I preivously gave them credit for. After studying about triangles and arcs, I have to conclude that the Greeks were supremely intelligent by today's standards. They were also ahead of the world at the time with their philosophy (Plato, Socrates, Aristotle) and engineering (Archimedes). What explains this unusual period of creativity?
I have to give credit to Euclid for having such an incredible intelligence. I wonder if there were alot of Greeks who were just like him.
