In the ending maldonia looks as elaborate as European or Mughal Palaces with the Royal Family Resembling Maharajah or Rajah ruling class with soldiers having far lighter complexion wearing european attire. The Mughals were lighter than the maharajah' & replaced the maharajah's.
If maldonia was set in morocco or mauritania they wouldn't be wearing european attire yet the ruling class are light skinned (Bidanes/White).
Pocahontas, Mulan (not even a princess), Emperor's new grove, Prince of Persia, Arabian knights, El Dorado, Lion King, Jungle Book, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Rapunzel, & the Swan Princess, are all are appropriately set. Turandot has yet to be animated along with the song bird princess.
Why not create an Original instead of resurfacing the Original story of the frog prince & inserting cinderella elements in the story. There are fairy tales in every region of the world. GIBLI FILMS seems to be doing a better Job.
Shaka Zulu, Caruso, tribal odyssey, going tribal, shouldn't be the only reminder of african culture & tradition.
