The entire national structure of Germany including names of organizations, symbolism and flags, governmental structure, leadership and military were completely changed and they suffered much more territorial loss than Japan, who was a German ally, and created as much destruction, crime etc. However Japan still had its Emperor (who never stood trial as Hitler would have) and successive Emperors have been preserved, military flags are the same as WW2, and Japan's global image is more positive than Germany in contemporary times and regarding the WW2 period. Double Standards!
