Why there are no updates for E62 on NSU?

I got my nokia E62 firmware changed from Cingular to Generic few weeks ago. Then back to Cingular and back to Generic (just to compare some functionality and fix Java problem). Nokia Software Updater used to give messages like "Your software is up to date but you can reinstall it anyway". But last several days I'm getting message: "No software available for your phone.". Even when I change product code to Cingular and later to Rogers it still "Nothing available". Are you guys getting the same message? Or it's me?
 
I'm in the same boat as well and it is severly frustrating at this point.

I especially need it because I'm replacing my phone under warranty and need the branded firmware back!

Let me know if you figure out anything!

It would appear as though Nokia has updated their NSU software to not allow you to rewrite your firmware. The only thing you can do is:

1. Hope they fix this fix
2. send it off

To Thenewcraze - I don't think they'll check the firmware version when you send it in for warranty. They scan the IMEI and if it's listed as a Cingular one (which yours is) then there's no big deal. AFAIK.
 
Have you noticed many bugs from a Cingular branded E62? I'm missing my E61 and a co-worker is thinking of giving his up to get a Pearl. I may pick it up for less than a hundo but I dont want to be at the mercy of Cingular for FW updates.
 
Of all the v3's out their I've heard the fewest complaints about the N93. Are their any major problems that your experiencing?.....and how much is it going to pss of you N93 owners when the N93i starts getting updates before you.
 
Right on the money. I've had zero problems with the un-branded firmware. If they won't check then I'm just going to keep it.

It could be me, but it seems slightly quicker.

I personally would take a Blackberry over the E62 if you are a heavy business user. The OS on the E62 is slower than I am used to in a phone, but I love the features and the interface. It works for me. If you need to get in and out of the interface quickly and constantly for navigation, interweb, or emails then go with the Blackberry as I think the E62 would be too slow for the on-the-go business user.

Again, it's a subjective matter. Try it out. I love mine. One of my favorite phones - ever
 
As much as I despise blackberrys it appears their EDGE connection is lightning fast compared to most of the Nokias I've matched them up against. For email retrieval the blackberrys certainly rule right now.
