Why the fuck should we have a labor day?
Cuz my boss cries like my 6 month old son, if I try to take a day off.
Seriously, I tell him two weeks or a month in advance. He tells me it is fine until someone calls with work which he promises to them. He then asks me if I could delay or cut short my plans so I can sit in the office while the boss does the service work.
I have only worked here for 8 years, the kid was born on a Sunday. I was told I could come in to work late on Wednesday. The boss told me that 'if nothing was going on we would switch between he and I who gets to leave early.' He has not followed through with this either, I have asked, he cries about the stuff he wants to get done, as if I don't have anything that I want to get done. Then he leaves early or gets distracted and we both sit here.
He does let me get off when I call in sick, except for last time when I had to come in and write something up for him because I forgot the day before and he does not know how to use a computer. Which is an apple emac and is well over 10 years old. We use dial up internet service. If the kid has a doctors appointment at 9 I still have to come in at 8 for a half hour and then I have to come back after lunch.
When I moved out of my fathers house I had to take a pay cut which ended up costing me $1000.00 over six months. When she was pregnant I asked for a pay raise because she got fired from her job a week before she would have been eligible for unemployment, (they lied and said she quit) I had to wait until after the kid was born and I had to beg. We had Blue Choice when I started working here, now we have some crappy reirabursement plan, which does not cover any diagnostic procedures or arabulance rides. I cannot marry the SO because she and he would lose the medicaid which I do not qualify for. (I suppose I could find a better insurance plan on my own, I suppose I would have to.)
I don't know, I just might as well come in on labor day. I should quit and go on benefits. I am done writing /rant
