We are having 375KVA generator, the insulation resistance and winding resistance of both exciter and alternator are OK and it is building up rated terminal voltage also. The DC supply carrying wire to the alternator rotor winding burning before. After replacing that wire now exciter winding is heating up and burning frequently.
Why the exciter winding heating up and burning frequently?
