Why the difference in build quality between E and N series?

As many users in these forums know it seems build quality is always of a higher caliber on E series Nokia phones then N series. Ive had the N80 that wobbled, the N73 that creaks and as many people have said the N80 wobbles as well

It seems though that E series phones get special attention in this department even if N series phones like the N95 costs allot more. Its not like they cant make sliders properly as shown with the E65.

So whats your theory on this?

Is it Nokia saying "well this is our business line so we need to make a good impression" or is it just a coincidence that it seems N series phones even if more pricey don’t seem built as well

It's probably because E series phones are for men and the N's are for sissies! We need a little more durability! I don't shave, I rarely shower, I've never used deodorant and I'm allergic to toilet paper! MEN!!

E series: Look Gdmnit! I'll be there in 15 minutes so make sure they don't leave. If I find out they left I'm going to kick your teeth in and gouge out your gd eyeballs and skullf you!

N series: Oh look at the pretty flower....let's pull over and test out macro mode *snap*

Dont get me wrong I love the N73 ive used it for over 6 months which says allot and E series are good as well. Its just shouldnt matter if N series or not for the price you should get the same build

LOL

That may be the case but for the amount of $ the N series go for they better be all the same build quality as the E series

You forgot to mention you had to get your first production N95 replaced cause of the build. I mean there are guides here on how to add tape in the housing in order for the phone not to wobble.

A 750$US phone should not need tape or wobble period

I've had 4 E-series phones and they were all built like bricks! 1 E50, 2 E61's, and an E62. All made in Finland (although that's not supposed to mean anything) and all were far far superior to any N series phone I've owned. I think the N91 and N70 may have been the closest in terms of build quality but certainly not the N80, N73, or N95. I've yet to toy with an N93/93i so I can't comment but from what I've read they're pretty solid as well.

I bought the phone used and while it was in good shape when I got it, it creaked within the first week. I would have been upset had it creaked when it was new but I cut it some slack since it was a 'used' item.

That's what I mean. Are there different production standards for these product ranges? If so why since for the money we are paying this shouldn't be the case. Maybe N series phones are more rushed to production then E series or something else.

But in some cases 1 N series phone is worth 2 or more E series phones in terms of money value so there is no reason this should be occurring.

If so many people have noticed this im sure people at Nokia must have as well im just curious as to why this is allowed to continue.
