Why Suzuki?

I got a Suzuki because they had the bike that I liked, at a decent price, and the dealer treated me well.

On the other hand, I went into the Honda and Yamaha dealer, and I was milling around looking at bikes for a good 10-15 minutes, and no one came to help me. In my mind, customer service has to be there, and it was delivered in a quick manner at the Suzuki dealer. Especially since I was looking for a budget bike, the Suzuki dealer really stepped up and took care of me. Good business is repeat business. It is a family owned store, which might have something to do with it.

I also looked at the Honda Rebel, but that seemed too small for me, and I couldn't find a decent bike at the Yamaha place that I liked.

Suzuki is usually on the cutting edge. They tend to be the ones to try things the others won't. In the sport bike arena, they are usually the target that everyone is aiming for. Even if they fall a bit behind, their bikes still hold their own because of the over all balance. I have owned as many Honda's as Suzuki's. Yamaha and Kawasaki just never appeal to me. I do love Suzuki. I even bought my wife a Suzuki SUV. She loves it.

Suzuki's have personality. Honda's usually do not have as much. Suzuki's tend to be more focused.

What it all boils down to is not a "reason" as to which is better. Motorcycles are usually an emotional purchase. They are rarely rational. The personalities that Suzuki's tend to have speak to the dedicated Suzuki riders.

So, find a make that "speaks" to you. The make that has the bikes that you day dream of. That you stare at pictures of in that magazine.

Lessee. I was looking for a technically superior middleweight cruiser as a "return to motorcycling after 25 years" and frankly, I'd always been a honda owner 25 years ago.

I looked at the Honda 750 lineup and found carbs and spoke wheels and twin shocks...And dealers pushing to unload 600VLX 4-speeds.

The barely Used M50 had cast wheels, shaft drive, hardtail-look suspension, FI, good looks, and a really reasoinable price.

That's why Suzuki.

Why Honduh?

p.s. nice trolling post...:fight1:

Honda's make you gay. That's why...

That and Honda didn't make anything I liked the look of, outside of Sportbikes (IMO) (for what was available at the time i purchased mine) they weren't competitive in the segment.

Plus....honda's make you gay...did I mention that?

Just kidding...they don't...What I should have said is Honda's are made for women.

My wife rides a Honda FWIW ;)

Not so. I was just curious as to why this is not a Suzuki-named forum yet most owners on here own Suzukis. I guess if I had a Suzuki, I might stay here, but the truth is, I am less concerned with the bike brand unless I'm having a technical issue with the bike that I need help with. For that reason, I belong to HDForums. Other than that, I am more interested in common riding experiences, trips, gear, etc.

FWIW, I ride with people who have all kinds of bikes. There is one Honda, one Suzuki, two Harleys, a Yamaha and a Ducati in our primary group.
