Why So Serious? *maybe spoiler if you're a pansy*

You wanna know how I got these scars? My father was a drinker, and a fiend, and one night he goes off crazier than usual. Mommy gets the kitchen knife to defend herself, he doesn't like that, not one bit...

So me watching, he takes the knife to her laughing while he does it and turns to me and says "why so serious?"

Comes at me with the knife "why so serious, son?"

Sticks the blade in my mouth "lets put a smile on that face!"

...

Why so serious? *slice*

Definitely the better of the two "scar" stories.

i liked that he changed the scar story depending on who he talked to...

but ya, the pencil trick was the best. As soon as i saw that i knew i was in for a good movie.

MAGIC *hand wiggles*

It was a nod by Nolan to "The Killing Joke" where Joker confesses that he remembers things differently every time, and he prefers it that way because if he's going to have a past he prefers it to be multiple choice.

The first scar story was awesome but the way the second was filmed was amazing. No other background noise while the camera circled around him FTW.

I got a bit confused when Joker told batman the whereabouts of Rachel and Harvey towards the end. Did Batman go after Harvey or did Joker tell batman the locations the other way around.

he wanted Dent to live with the death of Rachel because he wanted to show the city that even their "white knight" could be turned into a miserable, twisted human being. For whatever reason he assumed Batman would save Rachel over Dent, so he reversed the location with the knowledge that in all likelihood Batman would arrive in time to save one, but the cops wouldn't get to the other in time.
