I think this would be an excellent idea. Before anyone is allowed to register as a voter, they must take some type of test to gauge their intelligence. And I mean a proper IQ test, not some test relating even remotely to memorization. This means pattern analysis and prediction, puzzle problems, and mind twisters. Those who score in an ultra low area of the bell curve (<80 for example) are barred from voting. Those above this threshold are free to register.
When any election rolls around; whether it be local, state, gubernatorial, or even presidential, votes will be cast and weighted based on IQ score. The votes of high IQ individuals will carry more weight than those votes of people who barely made the cut. For example, the vote of someone with an IQ of 150 compared to someone with an IQ of 80 would be 5:1 votes. I believe this could help to expunge the rampant idiocy evident in American democracy, while at the same time still preserving democracy itself. What say you?
