Forced bankruptcy of GM and Chrysler is probably the best idea Bush has ever had in his life. The less useless American cars and ridiculously inefficient SUVs we're cranking out, the better the whole world will be. No one needs GM or Chryslers. They don't cater to the needs of modern society and their cars are butt ugly.
So we're assuming now that people who work in GM factories aren't physically capable of getting other jobs?

because they are so intertwined in in other companies futures, meaning they go under, millions of others that depend on them go under also.

And how do you think the thousands and thousands of people are going to feel when their company shuts down? And where do you think they'll end up working? I don't think the government should just bail the car companies out....but I think it should do something to at least try and preserve the jobs.

-i agree the way there manufactering them trucks .there huge. at this day and age when the planet is dieing .who with half a brain cell would make such a thing.. the trucks now are bigger then the biggest old trucks. the pollution them things make. i remeber when i was a kid in the 70s the weather was nothing like it is now. summer was summer " not savere weather season. winter was winter and i never seen a wind over 30 kms now where i get there are 120 km winds and there recorads to prove my point. if you dumb kids now think global warming is a mith then you are fallowing your group to hell.. whats it going to be like when the world is in a grave? i lived half of my life already most of you never even started.. grab a fricken brain

I agree 100%, If those companies go under that is not our issue, Have you seen the new ford commercials? at least i think it's ford, Anyway they really try to sell us on the American car bit."Buy American because it stays in the US" crap, They KNOW that cars like Toyota and Honda are WAY better for are Fuel issue and even though it is low now i am in no way getting use to this,

You're only looking at the surface of the problem though. Yes, American car manufacutors have not been operated with the best possible finiancial plans. However, They also employ vast amounts of people who are skilled in nothing other than building and working on cars. What are these people expected to do? The drop of the car co's would not be as economically drastic as the failure of the financial institutions, but it would increase unemployment by a massive amount and raise the need for more job re-education...all at the expense of us the tac payer...so you tell me, is it such a bad thing? we are already paying for it. are we cutting out losses?

you seem to be forgetting about thousands of employees of GM and Chrysler. What about them and their families?

yeah sure, we will just let 60,000 american families go poor and hungry

we need to save those car companies or there might be a monopoly in america's history
