Why should we have renewable energy sources?

I am writing an essay and I need the answer to this question I want to write about it but I want to know the reason why we need renewable energy sources so I can state it in my essay.
 
if resources arent renewable, then we run out and what do we do when we have nothing left to use for energy. we need renewable resources brcause we are running out of what we have of the non-renewable kind.
 
more environmentally friendly, won't run out like non renewables, dont contribute to carbon dioxide in atmosphere
