Why should more Native American authors be included in English Textbooks?

I have to right a persuasive essay (business letter to be more specific) and I'm having trouble thinking of reasons why they should be included in more textbooks. Help Please!

The Aboriginal people were here before anyone else and their culture helped determine the history and culture of North America.
Through presentation of their culture within the educational system, we will come to a greater understanding about how other groups can appreciate and co-operate with the aboriginal people, and they with the other groups.
This need is not unique to aboriginal people - all contributors to a country's country's culture should regarded in the same way.
