Why should I believe Obama is going to fix the economy when history says otherwise?

Obama did not say he will fix the economy. He is doing what is right to fix the mess created by Bush. Give him credit for that, stop whining and get a job.
 
Because like FDR he will get us in another world war. Doubt the people fall for it this time like before.
 
Because we study history to learn from the mistakes of the past. Maybe Obama's plan has fixed the flaws that prevented similar plans in the past from working.
 
I don't understand why all these people think he's the dude from the Matrix. The Chinese stopped buying our debt, so no we are monetizing it? So instead of a deflationary depression, we are going to have an hyper-inflationary one. If we did what Ron Paul says, this would be over in a year and a half, but the Administration seems hell bent on destroying the dollar.

IMO you shouldn't wait for the government to do any thing. All they can do is get out of the way of natural progress.
 
..."Barry" is a Politician ! ...and a Professional "obfuscator" and political-liar.. Politicians will do, say and manipulate what ever it takes to get elected and re-elected... "We The People" will fix this economy and a Congress that follows the Constitution ! ...not the Political whims of their warped minds !
