Why photos look darker on PC?

Two possibilities.

1) your computers monitor is not calibrated
2) you have the LCD on your camera brighter (usually so you can see it when shooting outdoors) and the camera is also slightly underexposing the images

Or both
 
Why photos look perfect (brightness + light) on digital cam, but when they are transferred to my PC they look like darker pictures. they are not as bright as on the cam, not even close.

My monitor is Samsung SM 793S. Gfx ATI Radeon HD3200.. both drivers properly installed.

Any input?
